Our correspondent had recently reported that UNICEF raised the alarm over the diversion and reselling of malnourished children’s food in states, including Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states, respectively.
Speaking on the N-774 initiative, Maina appreciated UNICEF’s involvement while stating that it is ready to carry it along in all the planning and strategies.
According to him, UNICEF is targeting more than half a million children with the supplies in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe state.
She noted that the first phase of the project improved access for over 530,000 marginalised children across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, and benefited more than the initial 170,000 children targeted, she said the second phase targets 130, 000 students.
