Sanwo-Olu explained that the decision to initiate the bridge repairs had been planned for over three years and was crucial to avert potential risks of a major disaster.
The repair project is being carried out by Messrs Buildwell Construction under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Works.
To ease the inconvenience, the Governor assured Lagosians that alternative routes would be enhanced and cleaned up more thoroughly than before.
He promised more traffic officers and security personnel will be deployed, similar to the increased presence seen during the December period.
