Nigeria, Canada, sign codesharing agreement to boost airline efficiency
The Canadian government, in partnership with the Canadian Aviation Authority, has finalised a codesharing agreement aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and elevating service standards within the aviation sector.
Codesharing allows multiple airlines to collaborate by sharing the same flight, providing passengers with greater convenience.
This agreement facilitates airlines from both Canada and Nigeria to offer seats on one another’s flights, expanding travel options.
It also enables these carriers to broaden their reach to additional destinations, enhancing flight availability without the need for each airline to operate those routes individually.
The signing of the agreement was made known via videos shared via the X handle of the Special Adviser on Digital Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, on Friday, March 21.
The caption reads: “Nigeria and Canada #CanHCNigeria have officially signed a Bilateral Air Transport Agreement (Code Sharing Agreement) today, marking a significant milestone in the aviation sector.
“The agreement was signed during a meeting between the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN #fkeyamo, and the Canadian High Commissioner, Ambassador Pasquale Salvaggio #HCSalvaggio
“This agreement is expected to enhance air connectivity and strengthen bilateral relations between both nations.”
