Salome Adaidu’s Murder: Suspect Denies Statement In Court, Says He Can’t Remember Anything
Timilehin Ajayi, the 32-year-old suspected killer of Miss Salome Adaidu, a female Corps Member has reportedly denied a written statement presented to the Court by the prosecution.
The murder suspect disclosed this during cross examination before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Lafia recently.
He also dissociated himself from the signature on the statement, stressing that he can’t remember appending his signature.

Speaking further, Timi said the only thing he remembers was the good moment he had with the deceased and when he woke up in the hospital bed in Lafia.
When contacted, a member of the prosecution team said the denial came at the wrong time as he ought to have done that during tendering of the written statement.
He however noted that the murder suspect admitted all the preliminary facts in the written statement like the schools he attended among others.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Nasarawa State, Barrister Hauwa Samuel Jugbo has vowed to leave no stone unturned in securing justice for the victim.
“Our intervention is a desire to ensure that any violation of the laws of Nasarawa State is promptly addressed, and justice is served in all cases, including this tragic incident,” she said in an exclusive interview with The Sun Newspapers, recently.
Beyond the case, the first female Attorney General of Nasarawa State advocated for stronger legal frameworks to address gender-based violence.
“Gender-based violence must be taken more seriously. The laws protecting women should be embedded in the Nigerian Constitution to give them more weight and ensure stricter enforcement,” she stated.
