As part of its ongoing efforts to ensure a seamless implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Yobe Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has engaged with Project Affected Persons (PAPs) of the Damaturu gully erosion/flood control project.
The objective of this sensitization workshop was to educate PAPs on the procedures for accessing compensation and provide guidance on effective utilization of funds.
The workshop was designed to empower PAPs with knowledge on the RAP implementation process, ensuring they understand the compensation framework and can make informed decisions.
Usman Mohammed Inuwa, ACReSAL’s Social Livelihood Officer, reassured beneficiaries that justice would be served in accordance with approved standards.
He further emphasized that compensation amounts would vary based on the value of affected properties.
The Damaturu gully erosion/flood control project with about 8.9km length is part ACReSAL’s deliberate efforts to address the recurring floods impact in the state.
The district heads of Bulabulin, Ajiya Kalli Murfama and that of Murfa, Alh. Mohammed Shehu Hashimi have sought for their subject maximum cooperation during the execution of the project.
