CAF Unveils New Logo, Trophy for TotalEnergies CHAN 2024
Ahead of Wednesday’s draw for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled a new logo and trophy for the tournament.
According to the statement published by CAF on its official website Wednesday, 15 January 2025, the new look brings a fresh identity to the competition, emphasising its deep-rooted connections to African football and culture.
The new trophy features a sleek, contemporary design, combining gold and silver elements, symbolising the prestige and growing stature of the tournament.
“A significant detail is the 54 distinct lines encircling the trophy, symbolising the 54 African nations united with a map of the continent at its core,” a CAF statement noted.
“This element underscores the championship’s celebration of diversity and unity across the continent. Each line represents the foundation of African football, a pathway carved by our passion and skill, a tribute to our players and our dreams.”
The new trophy stands as a powerful symbol of African football’s ongoing progress and shared passion for the game.
The TotalEnergies CHAN 2024, scheduled for August 2025, will be the eighth edition of the finals and the first to be played in East Africa since Rwanda hosted in 2016.
The draw will take place today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, commencing at 8:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT).
The draw will be live on CAF’s YouTube channel and CAF TV, featuring 19 teams made up of home-based players who will battle it out for the title.
