Jigawa Governor Umar Namadi Loses Mother

Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar, the mother of Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, after a brief illness.
 
The news was confirmed in a statement by Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor. 
 
“With deep sorrow and submission to the will of Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of his dear mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar,” the statement read. 
 
“She departed this world in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25th, 2024.”
 
The burial rites will be held on Wednesday at 4:30 pm in her hometown of Kafin Hausa, in accordance with Islamic traditions.
 
The governor and his family urged members of the public to pray for the repose of Hajiya Umar’s soul.
