Yobe Workers Receive N70,000 Minimum
Yobe state civil servants have started receiving the newly approved N70,000 minimum.
This development marks a milestone for the Yobe state’s workforce, fulfilling a promise made by Governor Mai Mala Buni in November when he approved the new wages.

Our correspondent confirmed on Thursday the development from some workers who began receiving their December salaries reflecting the newly implemented N70,000 minimum wage on Thursday.Â
Â
The implementation of the new minimum wage is expected to have a positive effect on the state’s economy. Increased disposable income for workers will likely stimulate local businesses and contribute to overall economic growth.
Â
“The commencement of the N70,000 minimum wage payment is a testament to Governor Buni’s commitment to the welfare of Yobe State workers,” said Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant for Digital and Strategic Communication.Â
Â
“This increase will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the lives of our civil servants and their families.”
Â
“We are overjoyed to finally receive the N70,000 minimum wage,” said a visibly elated civil servant, who identified himself as Ahmadu Sidi in Damaturu.Â
Â
“This increase will significantly improve our living standards and provide much-needed relief for our families.”
Â
Another worker, a teacher at a primary school, expressed her gratitude to the governor. “This is a historic moment for us,” she said.Â
Â
“The governor has shown his commitment to the welfare of his workers. We are confident that this increase will boost our morale and contribute to our overall well-being.”
