The Borno state government said its has expanded over #9 billions to sponsor 32,000 indigenes to study in the country and abroad in developmental scholarship schemes in the year 2024.
Speaking, Bala Isa, the Executive Secretary State Scholarship Board, siad the governor has directed immediate provision of scholarship for post graduate student in pilot training which rooted in his commitment to creating pathways for the citizens to excel and to lead.
Bala stressed that the initiative is aimed to nurture the intellectual and professional growth of indigenous ensuring they are well equipped to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic transformation of the state and the nation at large.
According to Bala, he noted that the initiatives underscored building a foundation for innovation, leadership, and progress that will resonate across generations.
He said, “Zulum’s Commitment to the development and empowerment of our people through education and skill development. This year alone, this administration has spent over 9 billion naira to sponsor over 32,000 Borno State indigenous with emphasis on science, technology, engineering, ICT and mathematics for both foreign and local scholarships.
He announced the approval of Post Graduate scholarship in the field of education, art, social science, languages, humanities and management sciences.
“In a groundbreaking move to diversify the opportunities available to our youth, Our governor has also approved scholarship for pilot training. This will provide interested, qualified, but not state indigenous, with the unique chance to pursue career in aviation, a field that offer immense potential for personal and professional advancement, while opening new avenues for our our state, to treat on the global stage.”he said.
Bala said the doll scholarship initiative reflect Governor Zulum’s deep belief in the transformative power of education and skill development.
“This scholarship will cover a wide array of disciplines, including education, art, Social Sciences, languages, humanities and management sciences, the focus is on fostering advanced knowledge and research that can address the unique challenges and opportunities within our state and beyond.
“Two pilot training scholarship programs seek to empower our youth to enter the aviation industry, a sector that has seen significant growth and offers remarkable career prospects. By producing skilled pilot from Borno State, we aim to position our people for success in a global industry, while inspiring a new generation to dreams big.”he declared.
While responding, Vice President of NUBOSS in Borno State, Ali Mallam Gana thanked the Zulum’s administration for the commitment to reposition the education sector.
