Breaking: Buni Approves N70,000 Minimum for Yobe State Civil Servants
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved a N70,000 minimum wage for state civil servants, effective December 2024.

According to Mamman Mohammed,Â
DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, the approval follows a recommendation by a state government committee set up to review the minimum wage.

“His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, has approved the payment of N70,000 minimum wage to state civil servants with effect from December 2024,” a statement from the governor’s office said.

The statement added that the committee had recommended a reconciliation of local government finances to ensure a smooth transition to the new minimum wage.

“The reconciliation process, which is nearing completion, is expected to be concluded soon for approval and quick enrollment of local government employees into the new minimum wage salary structure,” the statement said.

The government urged civil servants to reciprocate the gesture by committing to effective and efficient service delivery.Â
